A message from the founder of USA1st
Hello, my name is Don Pierce and I am the founder of USA1st. I wanted to take a brief moment to thank you personally for visiting our website. I would like to ask you a question, are you worried about America’s future? I am.
USA1st has been a concept in the making for over five years. Everyone from my wife, my children, my friends and our staff has worked hard to bring this idea to reality. Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to own several businesses; I have taught in vocational schools and I have served my country in the military. I am married and have two lovely children, both currently attending a school. Another question, do you believe our children represent the future of America? I do.

My wife and I both hold jobs and we work hard. We both strive to maintain a faith-based home and teach the value of hard work. We believe in core values that include honor, pride in country and respecting others. Our kids are bright typical kids that are trying to figure out their place in life as they try to have fun along the way. We also notice that our children watch us closely and they try to have conversations with us about the things we routinely talk about. My wife and I talk a lot about America, do you? Do you know who is listening in your home?
Like all parents I have watched my children forge bonds with all the current technology: TV, iPods, Cell phones and computers. See if this sounds familiar: my youngest son will be on a computer doing his home work, playing a game I am not supposed to know he is playing, listening to music on his iPod and at the same time with all that going on he will actually ask me why I am turning the channel on my TV! Talk about multi tasking! I can only imagine the amount of information he can consume in an hour.
I am not with them 24/7 and I wonder about the words he gathers. Do they include words like freedom, liberty, a republic and, better yet, capitalism? If so, how are they framed? Even a word like exceptionalism is up for debate these days. How can anyone expect to have an exceptional child without actually using the term? This is how exceptional is used today. You are not exceptional. This isn’t an exceptional country and we do not expect you to do anything exceptional. How do you resist peer pressure with that placed on your shoulders? As a parent I know my kids do it for me, but there has to be more.
I see the problem and so do you. There are many organizations that exist if only to treat the symptoms of today’s youth. But they only treat the symptoms and not the core issue. The Constitution and other key founding documents should not be buried under world history. It is world history. Our founding principles are more than words forgotten, they are core issues and if we choose not to embrace them it can turn our world upside down. The beliefs of our founding documents and the principles that created them are real and they work. Our history is our future and without it we are nowhere.
I do not place blame at the feet of our school systems, nor administrators or a teachers. All strive to follow the rules placed upon them. All want to be accepted. I place the blame squarely on us all, across the board without exception and that includes politics and politicians. It’s not about politics when you are 12, it is about principles. To me understanding our Constitution and the Bill of Rights cannot be stressed enough to my kids and yours. The pledge of Allegiance has been broken. It is now said under obligation and repetition. Usa1st wants to change that and if you are here reading this, maybe you want to change that too.
USA1st does not lecture. We develop a base line of truths. During our multi-media presentations to schools we utilize all the staples: video, music, live speakers, and strong images. We cover topics initially in areas of Third World education, child hunger and labor. We even discuss children who are forced to be soldiers. USA1st brings home the message of being grateful and being blessed to be born an American. We show the opportunity, the hope, the spirit of our past and today. We strive to give parents a moment where the lecture is theirs to give. We strive for the moment where teachers can reconnect to their students with principles, pride and the gratitude for being born an American.
It is my belief that most people are like my family and we are all searching for common ground. We have all talked about this and this program has been created for your child, your child’s school, your family and our country. We obviously need your help. Please do not wait for something to happen, make it happen. The time of our great history is upon us. Please take the first step and support our organization with whatever you can afford. Now is the moment where one cause can make the difference, for our children, for our country and for you.
